AS part of Watford Football Club's commitment to being a true community partner, the Club committed to achieve the Race Equality Standard (RES) for Professional Football Clubs, Preliminary Level, during the 2006/07 season.

The RES has been developed by Kick It Out (football's anti racism campaigning organisation) in partnership with all the major football authorities, The FA, Premier League and Football League and sets out a series of measures in a framework document to encourage and support the development of race equality practice.

Watford's submission to Kick It Out for the Preliminary Level of the RES was successful in April 2007.

The RES will formalise the club's commitment to ensure spectators, players, managers and administrative staff can work within an environment free from discrimination and encourage community accessibility for all to the club.

The RES is broadly broken down into three categories:

1. Stadium and outreach
2. Policy and planning
3. Administration and management

WFC will in the 2007/08 season be preparing an application for the Intermediate level of the RES to take our excellent work already undertaken to the next level.

Anyone interested in supporting this important area of work should contact Julian Winter - Community Director - julian.winter@watfordfc.com
