Aidy Boothroyd had no hesitation in snapping up the young striker as he made him his first signing of the January transfer window in 2007.

The goal-poacher has represented England at youth levels and he initially caught the eye while at his first club Millwall, where he made his debut at the tender age of 15.

He was soon on the move though and signed for London rivals West Ham United, but despite being a prolific scorer at youth and reserve team level he could not break into the first team.

A loan spell at Gillingham followed before he moved to Scotland with Glasgow Rangers. However after only making one substitute appearance he returned south with the Hornets moving fast to sign the striker.

He scored on his debut against Stockport County in the FA Cup run which eventually saw the Golden Boys reach the semi-final. He was loaned to League One side Bradford to get some first team experience under his belt but returned to Vicarage Road early after breaking a leg while at Valley Parade.

His rehabilitation from injury continues with the striker hoping to be available for selection before Christmas of 2007.
