MIDFIELDER Santiago Aloi has returned to River Plate following the completion of his loan move at Vicarage Road.

The Argentine arrived at Watford in August as part of a season long loan deal but the Hornets have not taken up their option to purchase the 21-year-old.

Aloi made 14 reserve appearances and scored one goal - a superb free kick on his debut away at Southampton.
