PLAYER OF THE SEASON
TOMMY Smith has tonight won the Watford Player of the Season award for his outstanding contribution throughout the campaign.
The midfielder was voted to have been the most influential player by both the supporters and his peers, and it's not surprising given he has only missed two League games all season and has bagged six goals.
Those include an impressive strike against Ipswich Town at Vicarage Road and a brace against Wolves. Although he will forever be remembered for his superb goal line clearance to deny Sheffield United an equaliser during the first home league game of the season back in August.
Smith has racked up 45 starts this season in his second spell at the club and is, as ever, a crowd favourite thanks to his grit and determination on the pitch and his local roots in Hemel Hempstead.
The awards were handed to Smith and his fellow winners at the annual End of Season awards at the Grove Hotel in Watford. The event was enjoyed by over 400 guests who turned out to herald the winners.
