MATCH winner Tamas Priskin was delighted to have netted his first league goal of the season at Layer Road last night (Tuesday).

In what was only his second league start of the campaign, Priskin made sure that Aidy Boothroyd's gamble of dropping Darius Henderson in favour of the young Hungarian paid off.

The Hornets had already pulled it back to 2-2 after going 2-0 down and the scene was set for Priskin to head Watford into the lead.

He said: "I was very happy when I scored. It was a great cross from Tommy Smith that allowed me to score. It was a great win, to come here and score three goals away from home, when the pressure was on for us to get a result, shows just how much of a great performance it was.

"This league is very hard and there are some very good teams in this league, so we knew that it wouldn't be an easy game against Colchester."

"We're back on track now and it shows what a great start to the season Watford had. We had to go through a sticky patch and yet we're still at the top of the table. But we're four points clear again now and it's just a case of winning the next game at Stoke on Sunday and just keep on going."

Now with Sunday's trip to Stoke looming, Boothroyd will have to debate whether he sticks or twists back to the tried and tested partnership of Marlon King and Henderson.

For Priskin, he knows that either way the goals will come thick and fast.

"Hopefully I will play a few more games now, if not, the manager will continue to rotate his strikers because I think we've got four great front men here in Marlon, Darius, Nathan and myself.

"With us all able to score we're giving the manager a lot of options and that's just what we need now that the games are coming thick and fast."
