WATFORD can now announce the final details of next week's pre season tour to Germany.

The club understand that fans who are travelling to support the team have been frustrated over the constant changing of plans and are now happy to set the record straight in terms of the reasons behind this.

Back in May, XXL Sport Marketing were engaged on behalf of Watford FC to arrange this year's pre-season tour.

Watford were delighted with the facilities on offer and XXL set about finding two quality teams for us to play.

The agent working on behalf of XXL informed us that Ankaragucu were prepared to play us on the Tuesday, which was then announced to the fans. However, he was later informed that due to a change in manager, they would then be pulling out.

XXL then replaced Ankaragucu with SK Ceske Budejovice which we were more than happy with.

The further addition of Napoli as the Saturday game was welcomed by Watford's football operations set up, but we have been informed this week and were further let down when the agent was informed that Napoli would be pulling out as well.

Maccabi Haifa, one of Israel's most successful football clubs both domestically and internationally, have now stepped in to provide the opposition for the Saturday game (July 28).

This will now take place at Hammerau bei Ainring, Germany, with a new earlier kick-off time of 4pm - at our insistence to help fans with their travel arrangements. Click here to locate Hammerau, which is ideally located for Salzberg airport.

The Israeli side enjoyed a successful run in last year's UEFA Cup after exiting the Champions League at the hands of beaten finalists Liverpool.

Their run in the UEFA Cup saw victories over Litex, Auxerre, Rangers, Partizan Belgrade, Livorno and CSKA Moscow before finally bowing out in the last 16 against eventual runners up Espanyol.

We have fought hard to ensure that the venues for the games are both accessible to our fans and appropriate for the needs of Aidy and the team.

Watford FC have been increasingly disappointed in the service received by XXL, not just for the sake of the club relating to Aidy Boothroyd's pre season preparations, but that of the supporters who have given up their time and money to support the side overseas.

In a bid to make up for the change in plans and express its apologies, the club have organised the opportunity for fans to watch the players train on Friday July 27.

So that training can remain behind closed doors up until that day, please be aware that the venue will not be announced until Thursday July 26. This will be announced on www.watfordfc.com

Watford will not be engaging the services of XXL for future pre season arrangements.
